Halfing waterfall

Hafling Waterfall (Haflinger Wasserfall) in Hafling/Avelengo, South Tyrol, sits on the Sinichbach stream along the Haflinger Adventure Trail — a family circular hike with a dedicated viewing platform over the cascade, at over 1,300 metres above sea level in the mountains high above Merano.

The trail

The route starts at Hafling Dorf village centre below the parish church, following the old Bürgeleweg (trail no. 2). At the bridge over the Sinichbach, trail no. 7 branches right and leads along the stream to the waterfall and its viewing platform. From there the path climbs, crosses a gorge on a footbridge, and returns via trail 15A and then trail no. 2 to complete the loop. Distance: 2.6 km, elevation gain: 140 m, duration: approximately 49 minutes. Classified as a family hike.
