How to Get There

The standard starting point is San Donato, a small hamlet belonging to the municipality of Lamon. From there a trail of roughly 8 km return descends more than 200 metres into the gorge, following the course of the Senaiga stream through dense riverside woodland. Along the way the path crosses three suspension bridges and ends with a short section along an exposed rocky ledge immediately above the falls. Allow about one hour for the descent. Parking is available in San Donato.

What Will You See?

The water drops 30 metres straight into a deep plunge pool. On sunny days a rainbow forms at the exact point where the falls meet the water below, visible from several metres away. Canyon walls and streambed boulders are covered in thick layers of moss, giving the place a fairytale atmosphere. The three hanging bridges over the gorge offer aerial views of the canyon and are a small adventure in their own right.

Spring brings the strongest flow, particularly after snowmelt and heavy rainfall. In summer the stream level may be lower, though the forested gorge stays pleasantly cool. The trail is open for most of the year; after winter it is worth checking the condition of the suspension bridges before heading out.
