Strážovice Castle (zámeček Strážovice) is a small Baroque manor house in the village of Strážovice, about 7 km west of Kyjov in South Moravia, Czech Republic. From a watchtower to a Renaissance manor

Records from 1375 point to a fortified tower (tvrz) standing on the site during the 14th century — a typical defensive structure for a small manorial estate of the period. In the 16th century this tower was rebuilt into a modest Renaissance manor house, following the architectural fashion of the era among lesser nobility.

When was the current Baroque building constructed?

The building's present form took shape in two main phases. Between 1726 and 1727, under František Zikmund Schrattenbach, a new single-story structure was raised in the manor courtyard. Then, from 1751 to 1753, Vavřinec Heřman Kannegiessen added a residential upper floor above the existing ground level, and a further story on top used as a granary. Together these two campaigns produced the Baroque silhouette that still defines the building today.

According to surviving archival records, the interior once included a salla terrena — a grand, garden-facing ground-floor hall typical of Baroque residences — as well as a room referred to as the "Capuchin" chamber. Strážovice castle is a good example of the smaller noble residences that were built throughout the Kyjov region from the 17th century onward: modest in scale, but designed to meet the rising comfort standards of the local gentry.
