Signal de Villard

Signal de Villard is a summit rising to roughly 2,100 metres in the Grandes Rousses massif, directly above the L'Alpe d'Huez ski resort in the Isère department of the French Alps — a panoramic viewpoint reached either on foot or by lift, popular with visitors who want big mountain views without a demanding climb.

What can you see from Signal de Villard?

The summit is known for a sweeping panorama stretching from the Meije massif to the Belledonne range. Walkers can also cover the route on foot: a well-known panoramic trail links Villard-Reculas to L'Alpe d'Huez by way of the Signal, running about 5 kilometres and taking roughly an hour and a half through alpine meadows and forest.
