Molí del Sors

What is Molí del Sors?

Molí del Sors is the remains of an old flour mill built along the upper course of the Gurri river. Like other traditional Catalan mills, it relied on water channelled through a purpose-built canal to turn its millstones. Because of its historical and architectural value, the entire Molí del Sors complex — the mill itself, its channel, the basin, the lime kiln, the weirs, and half of the nearby bridge known as Pont d'en Gatus (the half lying within Taradell) — was unanimously declared a Cultural Asset of Local Interest (Bé Cultural d'Interès Local, BCIL) by Taradell's town council. The site is also listed in Catalonia's Inventory of Architectural Heritage, a status meant to protect it from further deterioration and from the removal of its stone elements.
