Mali mozak

Mali mozak is a small ridge prominence of the Golić massif in southern Velebit, rising above Starigrad on Croatia's northern Dalmatian coast. It's the smaller counterpart of the nearby Veliki mozak — both names come from the Croatian word "mozak" (brain), describing the folded shape of the rocky ridges in this part of the mountains — but Mali mozak sits on a separate section of trail with a distinctly different approach.

From Golić, the route descends onto the Mali mozak ridge and continues on toward a spot known as Ramića Dvori and the Paklenica mountain lodge (planinarski dom Paklenica). It's a longer but quieter alternative to the classic canyon approach.

In winter, the higher ground around Golić can be snow-covered and icy, requiring proper equipment and experience.
