Kočinje brdo is a hill in the municipality of Klis, in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia, sitting right on the line where the coastal strip meets the rugged hinterland known as Zagora. The summit reaches 483 metres and lies between the settlements of Klis-Grla, Konjsko, Koprivno and Dugopolje, forming the natural western edge of the Dugopolje plain. The hill also played a part in the Second World War. In October 1944, just before Split fell to the Partisans, the outer Axis defence line ran through here, stretching from Strožanac and Žrnovnica, over Debelo brdo on Mount Mosor, through Dugopolje and Kočinje brdo, all the way to Klis. For people in the region, the name still carries an echo of those events from more than eight decades ago.
