Suc de Vent

Suc de Vent is a 1,191-metre summit in the commune of Vocance, part of the Monts du Vivarais range in the French Ardèche. It rises above the Cance valley southwest of Annonay, in the chain that separates the Pilat massif from the volcanic highlands of Haute-Loire and upper Ardèche.

The word "suc" is a regional term from the Massif Central used for a rocky summit, whether or not it has volcanic origins. Despite sitting close to volcanic terrain, Suc de Vent itself is not volcanic — it's a forested rock outcrop typical of the area's landscape.

Access comes from the west: roughly 4 km from the village of Saint-Julien-Vocance, or just under a kilometre before Vocance itself, a side road turns off toward Boiray.
