Slavia Museum

Praha 10, Czechia

About this place

Slavia Museum in Prague 10 is a private football museum run by SK Slavia Praha, housed in the main stand of the club's Eden Aréna stadium on U Slavie street. It is the only football museum in the Czech Republic and, according to the club, the largest one of its kind in the country.

What will you see inside?

The exhibition spans roughly 1,200 square metres across two floors and displays more than 1,400 items covering the club's long history. Highlights include the jersey worn by goalkeeper František Plánička at the 1934 World Cup, a ball signed by Pelé, and a replica of the trophy Slavia won in a prestigious Central European competition back in 1938. The museum opened its doors on 1 November 2018, and since spring 2020 a Stadium Tour has been included with admission, taking guests behind the scenes to the press conference room, the away team's dressing room, the tunnel leading to the pitch, and the substitutes' bench.

How do you get there?

The museum sits at U Slavie 1540/2a in Prague's Vršovice district, inside the Eden stadium complex. The easiest way to reach it is by tram 6, 7, 22 or 24, or by bus 135, 136, 150 or 213, getting off at the Slavia stop — the entrance is just a short walk from there.

When should you visit?

The museum and Stadium Tour are typically open to the public on Fridays and weekends during the summer months, as long as there is no SK Slavia Praha home match or other sporting or cultural event taking place at the stadium that day. Opening dates can also shift because of renovation work, so it's worth checking the club's official schedule before setting off.

How much does it cost?

A standard adult ticket costs 350 CZK, a child ticket (ages 6–14) costs 175 CZK, and a family ticket for two adults and two children costs 800 CZK. Pre-purchased vouchers can be redeemed for a specific visiting slot under the terms in force that year.

Who is it for?

Slavia Museum is a must for football fans visiting Prague, but it also makes an interesting alternative to the usual historic-centre sightseeing for families with children. Combining the historical exhibition with the Stadium Tour lets visitors into spaces that are off-limits to ordinary spectators on match days, from the tunnel players walk through onto the pitch to the substitutes' bench itself.
