Rust

Rust is a quiet hill in the Papuk range, within the Grad Orahovica municipality, in Virovitica-Podravina County in eastern Croatia. It sits inside Papuk Nature Park, Croatia's first UNESCO Global Geopark, placing it in one of Slavonia's richest natural landscapes.

Where is Rust and how do you get there?

The hill lies on the northern edge of the Papuk massif, close to the town of Orahovica, one of three main northern gateways into the park alongside Voćin and Slatinski Drenovac. Marked hiking and cycling trails run from Orahovica into the park's interior, making it easy to combine a car journey to town with a walk or ride into the hills. The wider Papuk area maintains a network of more than 200 kilometres of marked trails, kept up by local mountaineering clubs affiliated with the Croatian Mountaineering Association.
