Pazo de Arretén is a historic manor house in the hamlet of Arretén, right next to Padrón, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia. What kind of place is this?

Also known as Casa Grande de Arretén, the pazo was built in the 16th century by the noble Bermúdez de Castro family. The Renaissance-era house was remodeled in the 17th century and constructed from cut granite, the classic building material of Galician country houses. The main residence and its attached chapel form a distinctive L-shaped layout, with a family coat of arms crowned by a helmet set above the chapel doorway, a reminder of the family's former standing.
