Parque Finca Liana

Parque Finca Liana is one of the largest municipal parks in Móstoles, a city in the Madrid region of Spain. Spread over more than 14 hectares in the city's western district, it ranks as the second-biggest park in Móstoles and is often described as one of the city's green lungs. The main entrance sits on Avenida de Portugal, at its junction with Calle Granada.

Why is it called Finca Liana, and what's its history?

The land now occupied by the park once belonged to a private estate (finca) known as Liana. Between 1985 and 1990, the local government, led by then-mayor Bartolomé González Llorente, expropriated the land from its owners in order to turn it into a public space for residents. That decision gave Móstoles a large green area that has since grown into a multi-purpose park combining recreation, sport and environmental education.

What can visitors do inside the park?

The park pairs wide walking areas with a long list of facilities for families and active visitors. There are four children's playgrounds, two of which are adapted for children with disabilities. Fitness fans will find two outdoor biosaludable exercise circuits, a petanque court, table-tennis tables and outdoor chess tables. A skating rink is also available for visitors who want to skate.
