The convent recovered after the war, but the community gradually shrank. In 2004 the last five elderly sisters were transferred to the Santa Clara convent in Vilobí d'Onyar, in the province of Girona, and the doors of the Balaguer convent closed. A third foundation followed on December 23, 2006, when Sor María Victoria Triviño, from the Royal Monastery of Santa Isabel in Barcelona, arrived in Balaguer along with other sisters welcomed by the Bishop of Urgell, bringing religious life back to the site.
