The story of Sala Trono isn't a straight line. In 2017, following the production "Això és tot," the original room on Plaça de Dames i Vells closed its doors, largely because its limited seating capacity restricted how the company could grow its programming. Rather than disappearing, the group kept working as a theatrical producer, and through an agreement with the city authorities eventually found a new home inside the Teatre Metropol. Productions under the Sala Trono name are staged there today.
