About this place
Plopsaqua De Panne is an indoor water park in the Belgian coastal town of De Panne, opened in March 2015 as a companion attraction to the neighbouring Plopsaland De Panne theme park. The whole venue follows a Viking theme built around Vic the Viking, one of the characters associated with the Plopsa entertainment brand across several of its parks.
Inside the park
Plopsaqua offers more than fifteen water attractions aimed at both families with young children and visitors looking for a bigger adrenaline hit. Among the best-known rides is Sky Drop, a near-vertical free-fall slide dropping from roughly twenty metres and reaching speeds of up to forty kilometres per hour. Right next to it, the Wild River offers a calmer ride through artificial caves and ravines dotted with Viking-themed details and hidden surprises for guests floating along on rubber rings.
Visitors chasing more sensory attractions can head for the Disco Slide, a ride combining flashing lights with music, or the Sliding Tires, a tube-style slide. Several times a day the main pool area stages a simulated thunderstorm, known as the Storm Bath, complete with waves and heavy artificial rain — one of the park's signature moments.
A dedicated zone for younger children
Younger visitors have their own area, Vic's Play Village, filled with climbing structures, water jets and giant tipping barrels that douse guests below. It lets small children play safely without needing to use the taller slides.
Outdoor facilities
Beyond the main indoor hall, the park also includes an outdoor section with a heated pool, a whirlpool and a sauna. An outdoor themed beach area, called Wickie Beach, gives visitors a place to relax between rides, while the Bubbletons jacuzzis provide an additional relaxation option geared toward adults.
Location and context
Plopsaqua De Panne sits in the municipality of De Panne, on Belgium's North Sea coast near the French border, directly next to Plopsaland De Panne. Because of this proximity, many visitors combine a day at the theme park with a visit to the water park, particularly on cooler or rainy days when the indoor hall allows the fun to continue regardless of the weather outside.
