Piramida

Piramida is the highest peak of Zrinska Gora, a low mountain range in Sisak-Moslavina County in central Croatia, rising directly above the village of Zrinski Brđani. It reaches 616 metres above sea level and serves as the natural landmark for the whole Banovina region, which stretches between the towns of Glina, Petrinja and Hrvatska Kostajnica.

Zrinski Brđani sits on the southern slopes of Zrinska Gora, in the heart of historical Banovina. Geologically, Zrinska Gora consists of Eocene flysch together with Jurassic-Cretaceous magmatic-sedimentary complexes, and the area was historically mined for silver, lead and zinc ore, with extraction going back to prehistoric times. The region is also counted among Croatia's richest in drinking-water reserves, which explains the many springs found along its trails.

When is the best time to visit?

Spring and autumn are the most rewarding seasons for a hike here, offering comfortable temperatures for walking the forest paths without the dense summer foliage limiting visibility as much. Summers can be hot and humid under the tree canopy, while winter snow can make the local access roads harder to drive. Given the limited tourist infrastructure, it's worth planning the trip for daylight hours and bringing your own water supply and a proper map of the terrain.
