Gologlav

Gologlav is a peak rising within the City of Knin municipality, in Croatia's Šibenik-Knin County, right at the heart of the mountainous Plavno region. The summit, also known as Veliki Gologlav, reaches 1,197 metres above sea level and forms part of the Dinaric Alps, the long mountain arc running across the western Balkans.

Where is Gologlav located?

Gologlav sits north of the town of Knin, inside the Plavno highland — an enclosed mountain basin stretching roughly 14 kilometres from north to south and about 7 kilometres wide. The area lies at the meeting point of two major ranges, Dinara and Velebit, bordered by the Butižnica valley to the east and the Zrmanja valley to the west, which makes it one of the more tectonically active corners of the region.
