Estany de Sotllo

Estany de Sotllo is a glacial lake set within the municipality of Alins, in the Pallars Sobirà region of Catalonia, right in the heart of the Pyrenees. The lake is fed by water flowing down from the nearby Estany d'Estats and, in turn, regulates the flow of the Barranc de Sotllo stream, which later joins the Noguera de Vallferrera river. The surrounding ridgeline includes some of the highest peaks in the Catalan Pyrenees — Pica d'Estats, Pic de Sotllo, and Punta Gabarró — making the lake one of the standout viewpoints in this stretch of the mountains.
