Dinopark Vyškov

Vyškov, Czechia

About this place

DinoPark Vyškov is a themed prehistoric attraction park set in the wooded grounds of a former recreational resort in Marchanice, on the outskirts of Vyškov in South Moravia. It was the third park of its kind to open in the Czech Republic, following venues in Plzeň and Bratislava, welcoming its first visitors on 20 May 2006.

What can visitors see at the park?

Spread across several hectares of shaded forest, the park displays more than 100 life-size dinosaur models. Some figures are static reconstructions, while others are animatronic, featuring moving parts that bring the extinct creatures to life for visitors walking the forest trail. The path is arranged so guests move through different prehistoric periods, encountering species from the earliest eras up to those that lived just before the mass extinction event.

What extra attractions does DinoPark offer?

Beyond the dinosaur exhibits, the park includes a range of activities aimed at families with children. These include the DinoScience educational trail, a paleontology-themed playground, a bouncing rope bridge, and the DinoHurricane installation. Technology fans can try DinoRiders, a virtual-reality attraction, and a 4D cinema, both included in the admission price. Since July 2014, visitors have also been able to use a zipline stretched across part of the park grounds.

Does the ticket include anything besides the dinosaur park?

Yes — admission to DinoPark is combined with entry to the neighboring Zoo Park Vyškov. Visitors first pass through the zoo, from where a dedicated DinoExpress train transports them to the dinosaur park area. This arrangement means a single visit combines encounters with live animals and prehistoric reconstructions.

When is the best time to visit?

DinoPark operates seasonally: it closes for winter and opens only on selected days during the warmer months. It's worth checking the current opening schedule before planning a trip, as operating days and hours can vary depending on the season.

Who is this destination suited for?

The park mainly appeals to families with school-age and preschool children, for whom the combination of natural-history education and outdoor fun makes for an engaging day out. The shaded, forested setting keeps the walk pleasant even on hot days, and the variety of attractions — from dinosaur models to the zipline and 4D cinema — can easily fill several hours.
