About this place
Cascate del Mulino in Saturnia are natural hot-spring waterfalls in the Maremma area of Tuscany, municipality of Manciano, Province of Grosseto. Sulphur-rich geothermal water emerges at about 37.5°C and flows over travertine terraces into a succession of natural pools. The springs yield around 800 litres per second. Entry is free and the site is open 24 hours a day, year-round, making this one of the most visited and photographed natural sites in Italy. The pools are especially atmospheric in winter when steam rises above the warm water. Changing rooms and a paid car park are available nearby. The travertine surfaces are very slippery — caution is advised.
