BIBO Park

BIBO Park is a botanical and biotechnological garden located on the road connecting Eivissa to Sant Antoni de Portmany, in the village of Sant Rafel de sa Creu on Ibiza. Opened in May 2022, it pairs a conventional botanical garden with hands-on installations demonstrating environmental technology, making it one of the more unusual attractions on the island.

What is there to see at BIBO Park?

The grounds hold more than 35,000 plants across roughly 160 species, including specimens endemic to Ibiza and the neighbouring Pitiusic Islands (such as Formentera). Alongside the greenery typical of a botanical garden, BIBO Park houses several installations you will not find anywhere else on the island.

The algae photobioreactor

The park also showcases technology from the Barcelona-based company Bioo — generators and batteries that draw power from processes occurring in the soil itself, without fossil fuels or solar panels.

Salt pans, bonsai, and a planetarium

The grounds include a recreation of traditional Mediterranean salt pans, a bonsai garden featuring native species of the Pitiusic archipelago, and Ibiza's first planetarium, offering 360-degree fulldome projections.
