Kurzętnik Castle

Kurzętnik, Poland

About this place

Kurzętnik Castle is a medieval castle ruin in northern Poland, set on a hill above the town of Kurzętnik and the Drwęca River. Built in the 14th century by the Teutonic Order, it once played an important strategic role. Today it is a good place for a short visit with views over the surrounding area.

Na miejscu można liczyć przede wszystkim na:

  • preserved fragments of the castle walls, which are the main trace of the former stronghold
  • a hilltop setting above Kurzętnik and the Drwęca River, making the site especially scenic
  • a chance to follow the history of a 14th-century Teutonic Order fortress while walking around the ruins

For a visit, it is worth wearing comfortable shoes, especially if you want to explore the hill and the ruins at an easy pace. The best choice is a short sightseeing stop for anyone interested in medieval history and open views over the town and river.
