Gorzanów Castle
About this place
Gorzanów Castle is a former aristocratic residence in Gorzanów, in the Kłodzko Land of Lower Silesia. Founded by Germans in the 16th century, it later became associated with the von Herberstein family of Grafs or Counts, who owned it from the second half of the 17th century until 1930. The castle’s history is also reflected in one of the village’s former names, which came from that family. It is a good place for a short sightseeing stop.
Na miejscu można liczyć przede wszystkim na:
- A historic castle setting tied to the 16th-century German foundation and its long life as a noble seat.
- Traces of the von Herberstein period, when the property remained in the hands of the family of Grafs or Counts from the second half of the 17th century until 1930.
- A chance to connect the building with the history of Gorzanów itself, including one of the village’s former names derived from the family name.
For a visit, it is worth planning a calm stop and keeping in mind that this is a historic site rather than a large museum complex. Comfortable shoes will make the walk around the area easier, and the castle is a good choice for travelers interested in local history and former noble residences.
