Besiekiery Castle

Besiekiery, Poland

About this place

Besiekiery Castle is a castle ruin in the Polish village of Besiekiery. It was built at the end of the 15th century by the Łęczyca voivod Lawrence Sokolowski. Today, it is best suited to a short stop focused on the surviving traces of its past.

Na miejscu można liczyć przede wszystkim na:

  • the remains of the knights’ headquarters, which still help visitors understand the castle’s original layout
  • the tower, one of the stronghold’s key features and an important part of its early history
  • the visible traces of the moat, which once protected the site and are still noticeable today

If you plan to visit, comfortable shoes will be useful, as the experience is mainly a short walk around the ruins and their surroundings. It is a good option for travelers interested in medieval history and quiet places away from the main tourist routes.
