The castle complex, together with its adjoining outbuildings, still reflects this administrative rather than defensive character today. At a later point the building also housed a school — a small sign of how its role kept shifting over the centuries.

The castle is currently undergoing renovation. Since 2014 it has occasionally opened to visitors during municipal events, and since 2020 part of the building has served as the local municipal office and post office.
