About this place
Pilsko is a mountain massif near Oravské Veselé, close to the border between Poland and Slovakia. It is the second highest mountain in the Żywiec Beskids, reaching 1,557 meters (5,108 ft), and the name is often used both for the main peak and for the whole range. This is a good place for a hike, a ski outing, or a longer mountain trip.
Na miejscu można liczyć przede wszystkim na:
- Hiking routes that lead into the Żywiec Beskids, with the summit area offering a classic mountain experience in both summer and winter.
- A borderland setting, since Pilsko lies right on the Polish-Slovak border and also marks the European Watershed.
- Winter skiing conditions, which make the mountain a seasonal destination beyond the warmer months.
If you plan to go, it is worth bringing sturdy shoes in summer and checking the weather carefully, especially if you want to continue higher up or visit in winter. Pilsko is a good choice for travelers looking for a mountain day out with clear geographic landmarks and a mix of walking and seasonal sports.
