Lighthouse of Genoa

Lighthouse of Genoa, better known as La Lanterna, is the main lighthouse for the Port of Genoa in Genoa, the capital of Liguria, Italy. It is both a working aid to night navigation and one of the city’s best-known landmarks. Rebuilt in its present form in 1543 after replacing an earlier lighthouse, it is also the world’s fourth oldest lighthouse, after the Tower of Hercules in A Coruña, Spain, Hook Head Lighthouse in Ireland, and Kõpu Lighthouse on the island of Hiiumaa, Estonia.
