Estany de Malniu

Estany de Malniu is a glacial mountain lake near the village of Meranges, in the Cerdanya region of the Catalan Pyrenees, right on the border with France. Sitting at roughly 2,250 metres above sea level at the foot of the Puigpedrós massif (2,915 m), which towers over the whole area, the lake is ringed by pines and granite boulders and counts among the most visited lakes in Cerdanya — in summer it draws even more visitors than the nearby Pera lakes.
