About this place
Dyje 7B malá laguna is a small artificial swimming lake near the village of Pasohlávky, separated from the Mušovská nádrž reservoir — one of the three reservoirs that make up the Nové Mlýny complex in South Moravia. The lagoon administratively belongs to the municipality of Dolní Dunajovice, in the South Moravian Region.
Where exactly is the lagoon located?
Malá laguna sits on the northern shore of Mušovská nádrž, right next to Pasohlávky, which has a campsite serving visitors to this part of the Nové Mlýny reservoir system. Alongside the smaller lagoon there is a second, larger one — Velká laguna. Both are cut off from the main reservoir by embankments and function as separate bathing areas, away from boat traffic and open-water fishing.
Is it suitable for swimming with children?
Yes. Both lagoons have a gentle, gradual entry into the water, and the shoreline is sandy-grassy. This layout makes the bathing area comfortable for families with young children, without the sudden depth drop typical of the open reservoir.
When is the bathing area open?
The recreational season at the lagoon runs from May 1 to September 30. Within that period, specifically from June 1 to August 31, ordinary fishing is banned in the beach zone — a rule meant to keep angling separate from swimmers during peak season. The one exception is predatory-fish fishing with live bait fished from a buoy, permitted under the fishing district's rules.
Can you fish here outside the swimming season?
Malá laguna is part of fishing district No. 461 184 — Dyje 7B, managed by the Moravian Fishing Association (Moravský rybářský svaz), Mikulov branch. The whole district covers 23 hectares of water in total, including not just the lagoon itself but also neighboring stretches of this section of the Dyje river. Outside the protected beach period, fishing follows the association's general rules.
How do you get there and where is it on the map?
The lagoon lies in the municipality of Dolní Dunajovice, in the Brno-venkov district, at coordinates 48.895539 N, 16.565504 E. The nearest landmark is the village of Pasohlávky with its campsite, from which both lagoons are reachable on foot.
