The Mieroszewski Manor in Sosnowiec

Sosnowiec, Poland

About this place

The Mieroszewski Manor in Sosnowiec is a historic manor house in Sosnowiec-Zagórze, built in 1777 by Count Józef Mieroszewski on the site of an earlier wooden larch court, on top of Zagórze Hill. It is one of the two palaces that once stood here, and today it survives as a reminder of the former estate. For visitors, it offers a short sightseeing stop with a touch of local history.

Na miejscu można liczyć przede wszystkim na:

  • the manor itself, which connects the present-day city with the 18th-century residence founded by Count Józef Mieroszewski;
  • traces of the former estate layout, including the remnant park that once surrounded the court on all sides;
  • the historic setting of Zagórze Hill in Sosnowiec-Zagórze, where the manor stood alongside another palace that no longer survives in the same way.

If you plan to visit, it is worth keeping in mind that the former park area is now occupied by Hospital No. 3, so this is best approached as a calm, brief heritage stop rather than a long walk. Comfortable shoes and a quick look at the surroundings will be enough for anyone interested in local history and old estate landscapes.
