Château de Prévessin-Moëns

Château de Prévessin-Moëns is a 19th-century estate with an extensive surrounding park, located in the commune of Prévessin-Moëns in the Ain department, a short drive from Geneva and the Swiss border. While the château building itself is closed to the public, the park around it is one of the most popular green spaces in the Pays de Gex area.

What is the château, exactly?

The estate consists of the main château building, an annex, a barn and a caretaker's lodge, together covering around 1,000 m² of built area. The commune of Prévessin-Moëns bought the entire property in 1997 for just under 2 million euros. Since 2003, the château building itself has been leased under a long-term agreement to a luxury watchmaking company, which is why the interior is not open to visitors. The park, however, is a different story — it belongs entirely to the public realm.
